It’s probably more that stealing a car and kidnapping are very different crimes and the latter will ensure a lot more police involvement with a far greater punishment for no reasonable gain. Your common car thief probably does not have the connections to traffic the kid nor the inclination to set up a ransom situation.
It’s not that he suddenly found an urge to be a decent human, he just stood nothing to gain from doing anything else.
And the people using space-X assets without signed agreements to doing so are dumb enough that when that comes back to bite them in the arse no one should have any reason to feel sorry for them.

Dunno , dude . It’s like rewarding a killer for only killing one person even though he could have killed two people.
Doing ’ less ’ of a crime is still doing a crime and i’m pretty sure he didint return that child out of good of his heart but purely to drop his crime to significantly lower ‘tier’ if you will.
Probably just a flash of critical thinking.

When you have made 639 episodes you are bound to ‘predict’ something by a pure chance.
Also people are super susceptible to conformation bias thing . Make 1000 predictions, get one right and 999 wrong and everyone will focus on that one you got right - insta Nostrodamus.
Also Nostrodamus got most of his shit wrong so even Nostrodamus is shit Nostrodamus.

there’s an immense difference between stealing a material possession and taking a woman’s child
it seems weird to me that (some of) you guys seem to think a car thief automatically wouldn’t be able to see that difference and automatically would be unable to do a good deed for the good of that child and their mom (assuming the only possible reason they would do it would be for their own good)
(that’s the same like assuming this person would automatically also murder a person if they could enrich themselves thusly as long as they were sure they could get away with it; that certainly isn’t the case, which is why the example of the killer only killing 1 person is not applicable here because we’re not talking about a murderer here, just a thief; the difference, again, is immense)

but the “curious” thing about simpson “predictions” aren’t just that they aren’t totally ambiguous à la Nostradamus, but much more direct and applicable and in their “accuracy”.
Which makes them appear to stand out much more and being “premonitions”.
It’s not totally comparable to ex the “1000 monkeys writing for 1000 years will eventually recreate a Shakespeare play”/infinite monkey theorem, since the scope here is much briefer and “strict”/narrower, lowering actual “random chance” influencer

I would only buy it if Simpsons would have predicted that black women named Kamala would become vice president USA and wear purple outfit.
Now main character of the show , featured in all 639 episodes wearing a purple outfit ,which is one of the seven main colors , is hardly Nostrodamus level shit imho 
She is also not a president , but a vice president . Purple also seems to be different so yeah. You get what i mean.
People like to ignore those inconsistencies which doesnt fit and focus on ones which do to drive their ‘spooky’ point.

What me and i guess @Fraggles means that it was logical thing to do in this situation. YES MAYBE he had a moment of decency and did it because it was right thing to do , but most likely he just had a moment of clarity and did the smart thing.

it’s not that people ignore those inconsistencies, because that would mean they demanded 100% accuracy, and “people” don’t demand 100% accuracy, they just gasp when “similarities” end up being “close enough”
and your point is totally true,
but she could also have been wearing an orange dress. They could also never have had an episode not using tom hanks as inauguration entertainment, or even mentioned a deficit+trump, these are also possibilities. So when those things do occur, it suddenly becomes “woa”, because it “could” have been anything else too - which is what makes it fun, “cartoon “predictions” coming true #Absurd”, 
despite the actual “logical”/underlying (obvious) reasons for those exact features to be used in the show, like Tom Hanks peaking at the time, making fun of trump etc etc
(and your point being accurate is also usually why more rational people “roll eyes” at ex Nostradamus “believers”)

Oh shit, they’re planning a “remake” of Diablo 2. While I do have the old CDs I’m not sure if they’ll remain readable forever, so I also have a pirated backed up cd image copy and the old patch installers but I suppose having blizzards own installer stashed away as well might be a good idea.
