Seeing as it doesn’t filter anything it would only really protect against projectile droplets, if people are frequently sneezing and coughing in your face it’d probably be useful. As far as aerosolized droplets suspended in the air are concerned, those will just follow the air currents you create as you breath in and out around the shield. Same thing with badly fitting masks that have people fog up their glasses with their own breath. That only redirects any droplets up and around you rather than straight to the person in front of you. You become a sprinkler rather than a hose.

I went out on the 22nd, had to get groceries to tide me over everything being closed for Christmas and busy until new years. Of course days before Christmas are very busy too but I tried to go late in the day, still the store was pretty full. 5 days later, yesterday, I wake up with a decent fever. Nothing too bad, but it’s now day 2 and it’s not going anywhere. Not really feeling ill in any other aspect, just constantly really warm.
Don’t know if it’s corona of course, don’t know which variant, don’t know if I really should bother getting tested when my course of action wouldn’t change either way.
Which leads me to wonder how accurate current infection rate data really is, with most people vaccinated a lot of people are going to just get mildly ill, some maybe not even notably so. So why would you seek to be tested if you’re only just feeling a little under the weather? In ages past we’d just taken some cold meds and gotten on with our day. But we’re still now supposed to isolate ourselves and go get a stick jammed up our nose for the slightest sniffles?
I don’t think we’re doing that.

The treasures include sea sponges, barnacle-encrusted bottles and pieces of coral.
That was back in 2020. So who knows what those dolphins are doing now.
