Coronavirus

Yeah I see some people not really liking John Oliver perhaps of the skewed narrative. In general fear mongering is the sort of stuff that drives clicks and viewership, sadly. It’s good to know that the virus is taken seriously, but at some point I do agree somewhat that at some point reopening should occur in some fashion.
Even as a non American myself this kind of thing has been nothing new and it can influence us to take precaution immediately. Hell one could argue we were rather early on the response maybe by having sanitisers and masks sold off early if I remember.
In general, I am not the biggest fan of the White House’s responses to the outbreak thus far and I don’t really like that this virus has to become politicised to this extent. To be honest, I can see why he wanted to do it, but I do think he could just do this once the lock downs and cases have been suppressed significantly than now, since foreign countries are still focusing on containment efforts and such (look at how much people are crapping on Brazil). I said last time that I was glad that then it was mostly focusing on treatment and suppression of the virus, which still rings true hopefully but now with the whole US vs WHO and China thing I don’t really know what would happen regarding the impact of covid.
I know this is very sporadic as I don’t really see this as a response more so as just venting out some stuff. Perhaps I got a lot of it wrong but here’s my two cents or however much is worth.
