I recently was curious about stop animation. Then I accidentally fell into Russian stop animation and was introduced to Yuri Norsteinâs stop animations. No computers were used in their creation.
Use closed captioning for English translations.
Their current unfinished work is The Overcoat. In production for 40 years and unlikely to ever be finished because of the immense amount of time it takes to create the thing.

Honestly, it wasnât just the best sci-fi movie in a very long time, it was also the best adaptation of something that Iâve seen since Lord of the Rings. It changed little and tried to cut as little as it could, but it still told basically the same story through and through. As a fan of the book, I was VERY pleased with it. I had my qualms about the actors for Gurney for example, but they still delivered their performance very well, so itâs more like a personalized ânot how I envisioned them from the bookâ sorta thing so not entirely a complaint. lol
