So I was just looking at this when I opened my Steam client. I already own these two:

Company of Heroes
https://store.steampowered.com/app/228200/Company_of_Heroes/

and
Company of Heroes 2
https://store.steampowered[DOT]com/app/231430/Company_of_Heroes_2/
(I had to [DOT] this because it keeps showing the offer instead??)

I am confused about the offer. Does it require “Company of Heroes 2”, which I own? Replace it? Independent of it? Also, I think I read that you have to install it (download now) and keep it installed past the weekend, in order to keep it? I’m not sure I currently have the disk space.

Here is the screen I see at Steam (top and bottom, too big to capture all at once), and it indicates which parts are already in my library (don’t know why offer items say “free to play” unless that’s just temporary):

also my Company of Heroes 2 store page:

…(which is also showing the adv for the weekend offer)?

No. No. Yes.

Steam licenses never replace (overwrite) each other. You can track it here: https://store.steampowered.com/account/licenses/

You don’t need to install it. You never do when it comes to licenses accessible directly via Steam.

Company of Heroes in not part of this promo.

The relational model of entitlements, and the relations between license packages, apps and their contents can always be tracked through steamdb. The relationships for some games might be sometimes complex, but it’s traversable and trackable in time. It gives you an understanding of the model and the types of entities you’re considering.
