Only 10? When I got to the final page the counter at the bottom said 19 people got there (says 28 at the moment). Although I guess I’m probably not the only one passing the giveaway and just going through the puzzles.
Unless of course there’s another puzzle after it and I should send that email to continue.
PS Or did I just misunderstand what the counter means?
Spoilers my dude! The 5th puzzle is the end, although your comment is not much of a spoiler I would prefer if you would put it in a spoiler box. The counter had a few ticks on it already due to me accessing and a few guinea pigs accessing the website and I can’t remember whether I set the view counter to unique views or how long I set the cookie for. Also there are a few who did it just for the puzzles and some who have made it to the page but not solved it yet
Don’t forget if you would like to get Max Payne 1, Max Payne 2 or GTA III don’t forget to post the game you want along with your favorite puzzle/riddle.
And don’t forget to send me the PM codes from the puzzles for entries into the ARG prize.
Captain’s log 4: the 3rd puzzle proved troublesome, but was eventually defeated. the fourth puzzle seemed simpler once I got past some issues from having to use a phone for 90% of it. I will finish this!’
Captain’s log 5: The puzzles are complete! Thanks so much Pete for all of the work put into this, I had a blast figuring them out.
This puzzle is proving a bit too hard for me. I guess I’ll wait for the solutions to come out.
My favourite puzzle is the Monty Hall problem. It really makes you think despite it seeming deceptively simple.
I’d like to enter for GTA III. It’s a game I played quite a bit as a child and wouldn’t mind visiting again for nostalgia.
I think the second puzzle is easier than the first, you can do it!
Can’t wait to fight these colossi.
Spolier clue
I fell cheated, I just wanted to look closer to that turret animation and got spoiled
I have no idea how to solve any of it. Kudos for creating it though.
Countdown till enties end for those who are curious. I have chucked it in the original post as well.
Reading through this thread, there have been a few spoilers and clues. Even though @PeteMcc specifically mentioned that he didn’t want that. And so threatened disqualification for the transgression.
I think I would be incredibly disappointed if I had put as much time and effort into this as Pete has only to have people post spoilers.
He might think differently, but that kind of behaviour would discourage me from creating this kind of game, and perhaps others too, which is detrimental to the community.
This is a small community that generally has a good laugh, and it’s sad that even in a small group like this people can’t stick to the rules to keep things fun.
Whilst I can see your point, I don’t feel that we’ve had any major spoilers, and that those minor transgressions that have occurred haven’t enabled anyone to complete a step without solving something themselves. Personally I found this to be a lot of fun and it’s sparked a sense of community once more…it’s almost a shame that we can’t find a competition/quiz somewhere else that we could put our collective heads together on.
Pete may well have discounted some entries, we’ll never know, but ultimately it’s for him to decide whether anyone has crossed the line. The thought that he’s put into this giveaway is humbling, and I really hope that it doesn’t put anyone else off doing something similar in future. Plus people are only straying across the rules because they want to be more involved…sometimes it’s tough to see something that you don’t understand and feel left out.
That reminds me: Did anyone ever complete that text adventure you created?
Nope. We reached an impasse and it died a death. Possibly for the best as certain errors were made and were never rectified, which may have caused problems further down the line. Plus I think harith got tired of butting his head against the unforgiving text parser.
The fundamentally broken from the start. I mean, what kind of lame ass game doesn’t allow you to solve any and all of your problems by punching them?
The hubby calls that “a technical tap”.
You mean us
Heh, that reminded me how you solved half of the problems in Dreamweb by shooting them.
Agreed, that why everyone has been solving the first puzzle here incorrectly, the real puzzle solution* is
*This is not the real puzzle solution nor will this help you solve it in any way, this picture was made for purely comedic reasons
OK I declare today, HINT DAY!!! I will help people who are genuinely stuck on a puzzle (you have to have made an effort at solving it at least) . All you have to do is PM me within the next 24 hrs with:
- what puzzle you are on
- what you are stuck on
- what you have tried
and I will try to give you a hint, can’t promise its going to be a very helpful hint, but it will be a hint nonetheless.
