As @Gnuffi said. The question is just a ‘qualify for entry,’ Type of thing. We use an RNG integrated with this site, if you wish to see that, just say @ discobot help (remove the space) and you can see from there yourself what we do for die rolls.
As for the winners, well that is up to them if they want to announce whether they won or not. I don’t feel it is my place to reveal them. I can only assure you that we do contact each winner individually via PM, where they have 24 hours to respond or we redraw. Most respond and then off they go with their Steam Key.
I try to make this clear in the OP but perhaps it could be clearer in future. Thanks for asking, gives me a chance to explain.
Do you usually PM the winners that they have won the game, and if they reply back, then you send the key? I think that is a good idea and I might like to do that in the future too! When I gave away the games, I just PMed the keys directly after the RNG drawing, and I did not hear back from everyone. I assume everyone got their keys and went off to try their hands at the MegaMillions lottery, etc… But I like the idea of having someone respond to an initial PM and then sending the key along.
Yes, I tell them they have won, then ask them to reply, once they do so, I send the key and ask to be confirmed that they were able to activate it or whoever they choose to give it to activates it and so I can scratch that from the list.
The reason I do that, is that I sent a key last year and got no response that it had in fact been claimed or not, 2 weeks past and I had a friend check to see if the code was working, it was and I told him to keep it, about a week or so later I got an angry PM asking why I had sent him a dodgy key, called me some names, accused me of trying to persuade people to like me and went quiet, when I said I hadn’t and explained what happened, he insulted me some more and I have not seen him since. If he had been a wee bit nicer, I would have sent him another key.
It was a learning curve and so, therefore, I began putting time windows in the giveaways and sending keys only after confirmation.
That is one bad example, most people are extremely nice and thankful, so don’t be too put off by that sort of thing.
also might be worth mentioning
We are holding pretty firm on that 24hour deadline people
so it’s pretty important if you enter for these giveaways, that you remember to check and log in (so you can see PM’s) between Monday’s deal reset and tuesday
otherwise a game gets rerolled, and another winner is picked, so that someone now suddenly has to check their PM’s between tuesday-wedensday
-not checking your PM’s begins a little mess
