Free to keep for 100 hours? They surely didn’t take the idea of this marketing stunt from Totally Accurate Battlegrounds:
"Starting August 15th 10am PST (5pm UTC) Broke Protocol will be free to keep forever (100% off). No trial, limitations, or strings attached. But act quickly because the offer is only available during this 100-hour promotion."
Thank you Delenn for this alert. Thanks a lot <3
We could all get it and start a Chrono gang lol.
Oops did I type my evil thoughts again
except TABG you got to keep forever, I still play it so glad I got it.
this game on the other hand… I already bought of chrono one day :’(
its good though I recommend it.
this too, lol
Here’s an interesting idea for an indie game sale: 100% off first hour, then 99% second hour, 98% etc., until it’s full price after 100 hours. Assuming it’s an actual good game, it would trigger viral word of mouth and impulse buying because you know the price will just keep increasing if you wait, even if you don’t hear about it until 2 days in you’ll still get ~50% off.
Or a AAA studio since they’re used to doing 10%-20% off for pre-orders, allow 30% off through the first day, 20% through day 2, 10% through day 3, and then normal price no discounts for the standard 3-6 months. Again, it heavily incentivizes impulse buying and word-of-mouth sharing which is good for the studio (saves on marketing budget) as long as it’s a good game.
They’ll have thousands refunding, cause ppl bought it in a rush wo checking what it is. That + Steam doesn’t support a price change every hour afaik. That + millions complaining that it was 00:00 for them when the 100% off started. That + if it’s a rly good game word of mouth will make them bankrupt within 10 hours as ppl WILL get it for 90-100%. That + once it’s down to 50% off ppl will will feel like they were at disadvantage and won’t pay for it anymore, cause others got it for free/very cheap. That + ppl will have bought gifts for resale. Basically it’s a crap idea, profile pic checks out.
