Any Halloween Related Experiences Planned?

Felt kinda curious about how the chronies spend their Halloween. Not just games. Movies, tv series, Inktober, Spooktober themed escape rooms? Maybe you don’t even celebrate Halloween. Just whatever.

I myself haven’t planned much other than after i finish up CrossCode and Netflix’s Hilda, i wanted to start some horror, like Amnesia’s new hard mode… For the first time. :scream:
And maybe Bogiepop phantom to take over Hilda’s place, heard that’s pretty spooky and mysterious.

I’m gonna try and fill this spot with some horror i recommend, like:

Perfect blue. an anime movie that gets progressively more terrifying for every passing year.

Tucker and Dale vs Evil. More comedy than horror, but does some fun twists and bends on the usual horror tropes you’ve come to love/hate over the years.

From Dusk Till Dawn. Unsure if this even counts. Ehh, don’t care, i love this movie. If you somehow don’t know, the “Twist” of this movie is why it’s so unforgettable. All i need to say.

Wholeheartedly recommend bogiepop phantom, a series I watched many years ago now in a binge on psychological horror and bizarre mystery animes. Along side Gantz, Higurashi and Ergo Proxy.

I find it a bit of a shame they don’t make more disturbing works like these anymore. Last really good one I can remember is probably Shinsekai yori, From the new world.

Wouldn’t have figured Shinsekai yori was that, looking at the art style alone, which i guess is also the case with Higurashi. Yeah, it’s seems to be only every couple of years we get a genuinely good disturbing anime show.
OH GOD! Now i’ve been reminded of that Junji Ito anime again. What a disappointment.

Yeah that’s part of what makes them so good, start off being all pretty and pleasant and it might even take a while but at some point things gets real damn dark which contrasts so greatly with the normalcy established early on.

I discovered a very close friend of mine never watched Nightmares before Christmas wich was my favourite movie when I was a kid for many years, so we’re going to his house (or mine) to have a dinner and watch it with a few other friends. We do that type of plan from time to time but “Hey let’s see that one because Halloween” shaped the plan a little bit. Maybe I make cookies with spooky forms or whatever, we’ll see.

That’s a Christmas movie though, isn’t it?

Kinda both… the gist of it, is Halloween taking over Christmas. Another nice movie from Tim Burton would be the remake of Frankenweenie,

which is based on these two short movies, Vincent and the original Frankenweenie:

Edit… Mr. Whiskers haaad a dream about you, last night…

Nothing planned besides looking for and watching scary movies, though sometimes I have this urge to go out into the woods and search for witches/pagans practicing secret ocult stuff because it freaks me out (thanks Blair Witch). :joy:

I loved Hilda, so adorable. <33

I mean, what do you wanna hear? That I’m making things up on the way to see more times that movie? Well, yes, probably, you got me! I would say it’s a mix of both as WikiTora said but, more important that anything, it’s a decent musical movie, and you can’t let those escape since they are so scarce.

The nightmare before Christmas is a great movie. I’d like to share the italian version of Jack’s lament, performed by singer Renato Zero:

As I’ve just recently and kinda accidentally watched a horror movie which kept me sweating for about 75 mins, I will not watch anything scary on Halloween or the next few months to come :grimacing::fearful:

Great indeed, I already knew the english, the french, the spanish and the italian versions (at the very least) are really good. I often like to get poetry books in bilingual versions because not always you find good translation works.

Not sure yet what I am doing for Halloween, besides decorating the house. Will be doing something eventful though, it is my wedding anniversary afterall. Yes, got married Oct 31, 2017. We all dressed up in costume… It was a very fun, memorable experience :)

I keep forgetting that exists. Definitely looks fun. Don’t know if i’d be too annoyed at the black and white stylistic choice there’s going on. Well, i enjoyed both Nightmare Before Christmas and Paranorman, so might just give it a whirl.

Could i perchance ask what that movie was? That sounds thrilling

Happy anniversary! :tada: That’s an adorable Tradition you need to keep.

Ok, just gonna bring this up because i mentioned CrossCode in the top post.
So i finished CrossCode. Jubi ye, for me. But anyway, thought about looking up some CrossCode content and found this absolutely eye souring title. Guess he wants the Youtube algorithm gods to notice him. Also worst of all, he shows the GOD DAMN final boss in the thumbnail. At least i completed it before this. Many other fans probably aren’t that lucky.

Ofc, but don’t expect my standards for horror movies to be on your level, I only rarely watch anything in that genre as I’m rather light-hearted  It was simply called Animal. I enjoyed it nonetheless, I’ll gladly recommend my absolute fav horror movie tho, it was so tense it literally cured me from my cough I had back then for the duration of the movie, if you are interested lol would have to look up the name

Not gonna lie, the thing I look forward to the most is the haloween themed spoopy games that some youtubers do, seeing some people who don’t like spooks forcing themselves to do it because its the season is very amusing, my favourite recently is PBG he does NOT like spoops.

other than that I like placing spike traps around in the street just cas, you know.
