Be aware though that these are the “enhanced editions” which means Beamdog has been smearing their greasy fingers all over them. Beamdog are at best just parasites making money off of other people’s brilliant works and in doing so have removed and are preventing people from buying the old original titles. At worst they’re agenda pushing political activists exploiting and befouling the good names of old beloved and highly regarded games to spread their ideas.
Either way they’re not worth supporting.

don’t you still get the originals if you buy the GoG version?

Yes on GOG you do, for at least some of them. But you still have to pay the 5x higher price for the “enhanced” one compared to what the old original used to cost.

@Fraggles Both for 5 dollars is dirty cheap.
And sorry I don’t mean to start a debate here, but I see this trend of fans of a game (Baldurs Gate, Neverwinter, Planescape…) bashing on their respective Enhanced Edition which I find reallly counterproductive.
Yeah, I get the enhanced edition can be a cash grab, could be better and some complains are valid, but…what do you achieve? Burying your favourite games on negative reviews so a sequel never gets realeased? You have to encourage the developers too.
Criticism fine, but don’t take these games so personally.
