Today’s deal is Treasure Hunter Simulator!
Ah yes, the metal detector people. They’re not quite hikers, not quite archaeologists, but they’re all chill. They’re rebels; they refuse to be categorized. They are a tribe of their own. They don’t think like the rest of us. You ask them “hey, me and a couple friends are going down to the beach, do you wanna come?” but instead of just saying “heck yes baby, you know it” like a normal person, they’d probably say “heck yes baby, I bet I could find an old key in the sand there”, and honestly, we think that speaks for itself.
But you know what it takes, more than anything, to spend a couple hundred bucks on such a specific device, just to use it to calmly wander around rubbing it along the floor with your headphones on? Faith. It takes the metal detector person believing that they’re always right on the verge of a major payday, and just the knowledge that with metal detecting, the journey is almost always going to be better than the destination.
In the end, most of the stuff you pull out of the ground is going to be weird trash from the late 90’s, but look where you are with your neat stick that beeps when there’s metal: beautiful scenic vistas, the quiet endless strand of a public beach, irreplaceable world history sites! I mean, what a side effect, right?

Our favorite Steam reviews:
Okay, first things first. As someone who volunteers for a major world heritage site (one of the rather famous ones with great big rocks), I am glad to have them mentioning things like permits and half of the items found being rubbish. I was worried it would all be glamourous. Instead, I’m finding all the bottlecaps I wish I had in Fallout.
