Today’s deal is Skautfold: Usurper!
The Citadel arrived over London 122 years ago and yet as you sit there at your desk in your soft clothes with your coffee and your half-planned breakfast, you can just barely see the sky out of your window enough to notice it darken slightly. There are two TV’s playing two different things in different rooms of your house. Hmm. There still must be smoke in the air from when you burnt the toast. Skautfold is a nice classy-sounding word. Game seems better than the $2.49 you paid for it. Who’s the Usurper, you wonder.
White smoke trailed from your nostrils and you reveled in it, twirling your body through it and making your hair smell like it. Somebody better do something about that Citadel up there…you remember that in Skautfold, the Empress sent four knights. There is a Seinfeld Season 7 DVD box set completely unfolded and open on the coffee table next to two books you’ve started. No ashtray, though. You’ve never smoked anything in your life. Outside, it’s there.
They call it a Metroidvania because of a couple common mechanics it shares with certain Metroid and Castlevania games, mostly centered around exploring and uncovering a continuous world map. Someone is going to have to go up into the Citadel. London is in trouble, and it’s such a foggy city. You should start a retro gaming channel now that you have the time. How old do you think that chicken nugget is?
