Seeeeeeeecrets!

It’s definitely not super obvious.

And ya, let’s not mention specifics here. Don’t want to ruin it for everyone else!

Here’s the full breakdown of secret 6 for the curious!

Judging by the responses from those who solved this secret, I think this was our hardest yet. It started with a clue in this thread, “a little birdie showed us something awesome that piqued our curiosity…” This referred to a tweet (little birdie) we made that day for Awesomenauts (something awesome) which contained a gif (showed us something) that had a QR code in a single frame (watch the top right corner). This QR code, when scanned, displayed the message “DACCECBGCG.” This needed to be translated into numbers, which led to “4133532737,” which is a phone number! Call the number (you still can!) and it immediately goes to voicemail with a message in morse code. This message spells out “SECRET@CHRONO.GG SUBJECT SOS.” Ta da.

Oh wow secret 6 was nasty :stuck_out_tongue: I didn’t manage to solve it unfortunately, I though it had something to do with the gif but didn’t bother to go through it frame by frame. Lesson learned I suppose.

I’m just hearing about these secrets. How do we find out when a new secret is released? Just forum posts?

EDIT I actually read the intro paragraph, so NVM. What lacking attention to detail I have sometimes.

Well, I’m excited. Any of you play The Black Watchmen yet?

Welcome to the hunt. I don’t know about The Black Watchmen, since you have to pay for it i feel you would need to be in it right at the start or else you miss out on half of the content with the community stuff already having been solved. To me ARGs seem to be best as a side thing to for those super interested in whatever the subject material is or for those who like to do a good bit of puzzle solving. ARGs are also difficult to make available to a worldwide audience as there are restrictions in what some users can do based on their location and what they have available to them, so with a free ARG at least they can help the community to help solve things based on geographic puzzles or clues or they can bail on the ARG and all they have used is their time, but when you have to pay for it it is a different matter. I don’t exactly know if this is how The Black Watchmen works, so I might be wrong, but they are my thoughts. On a slight tangent I’ve been reading about the ARG for Oxenfree and that seems interesting, but is soon coming to the end, so we will see what the end results are.

How’s the next one coming along? Getting withdrawals already :frowning:

There’s going to be a little break in secrets, unfortunately! I was out of town last week and I’ve been super busy catching up this week, but we’ll get another one up as soon as possible!

Was there any significance to the phone number, particularly the area code, used in the last secret, lonin?

Is someone on the Chrono.gg team a Lovecraft fan?

No intentional significance, it’s just what Google gave me. What does it mean?!?!

Coincidently it happens to be the area code I live in - and I was thinking what depraved individual would want such a prefix! :scream: 413 also happens to be an HTTP error message.

I Google’d the number to see what would show up (and this thread as at the top of the list) and one result said it was registered to Housatonic, MA. Lovecraft wrote a lot of his stories around a fictitious Miskatonic area which was based on the hilltowns of western Massachusetts, thus my suspicion if there was any significance to the phone number it may have been a small Lovecraft reference.

Or you know, Google gave you that number because no one else wants a number saying they’re from western Mass. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
