Can you not just download the game itself from the website through your browser? I would imagine that to work and you could have your games to play.

I tried, but apparently GOG doesn’t let you resume failed downloads (most websites do, so this isn’t on my end, I can only recall one other website with similar issues), and my connection isn’t stable enough to download 4GB without interruptions. I suspect this instability not being handled properly may be why GOG Galaxy behaves so poorly as well, while apparently having behaved well enough in testing for it to have gotten released.
I got GOG Galaxy in the first place to use it as a download manager first and foremost, since Steam handled downloading large games quite well. And until I updated it recently, it did indeed do fine (required manually retrying now and again unlike Steam, but at least it resumed properly).
I was able to download via GOG Galaxy in those 2-3 minute windows. Wouldn’t want to do that for larger games, but for 4GB it was doable once I took off the speed limiter (which I only put on because someone else claimed it helped them).

I’ve used free download managers in the past that allow resume of downloads, but can’t recall the name so I just did a search. The number one choice on 3 different web pages that list the best download managers is called “Free Download Manager”. Here is an example page:

I’m not sure which of these free managers will allow you to resume on a download that stopped “due to your internet” vs telling the software to pause/stop the download, so you may have to try more than one to get what you want.
ps - Free Download Manager can also split large downloads into several connections (not sure if that means simultaneous, or pieces to download at different times).

Ah, it’s websites does say “Resume interrupted downloads. Lost your connection? No problem. FDM automatically resumes interrupted downloads right where they left off”.

It’s an issue with the website, not my download manager, which can resume in other cases just fine, as I mentioned. I appreciate that you’re trying to help, but I’ve already got it sorted, as I wrote in the post xP
The several connections thing means simultaneously - it’s a way to get around simple speed/bandwidth restrictions some websites have. This is something even web browsers these days can do.
Resuming downloads due to connection issues is also a standard feature, as that’s not fundamentally different from manually pausing.
