Not Unreal assets, but I thought I’d post this here since I imagine people frequenting this thread are likely to be interested: VUE and PlantFactory, 3D terrain and tree generator software respectively, are no longer developed, and the most recent stable (2023) and beta (2024) versions are available to download for free. Both programs include exporter plugins for Unreal.
Ethan is tilling, quietly minding his own business, planting mushrooms to sell, and provide for his wife and new daughter.
Suddenly! A Zombonie attacks! Equality opportunity justice as CoryxKenshin would say.
He rushes to the farmhouse after vanquishing the undead intruder, but can’t stop in time to prevent himself from falling into a portal just behind the open door.
Ethan’s eyes open in an unfamiliar place. He checks his bearings before trying to call out for his wife and Rose. There is snow on the ground. At his six, the grounds beyond stretch out into a panorama of frozen tundra. The farmhouse at his 12 looks almost right but something … Is that a gothic styled castle in the distance?
Panicked but cautious, he walks towards the house, constantly aware of faint murmurings echoing from other unseen dwellings. There must be a ViI.I.age nearby. Seizing the rake by the door, he pushes on the handle…
FYI for those that frequent this thread or frequent the marketplace.
I’m not sure what this will mean for the Free For the Month assets, but everything you have acquired will migrate. This is not another company from the looks of it. It seems more like Epic is consolidating everything under a single umbrella. Hopefully the freebies continue, but we will see.
Fab is now live and from what I can tell, the “Free for the Month” section is now called “Featured Free Content.” They are located here: Featured Free Content
If you don’t have them already you should see something like below where you can select the drop down and chose the free “Personal” license.
As before, there is a very large selection of assets that are always free, located here: Permanently Free Assets
In addition to this, there is an offer available to acquire all Quixel Megascans for free until the end of the year. You get to keep this under the standard license even after the scans become paid. This offer is located here: Free Quixel Megascans
Edit: I updated the title in this thread to reflect the change from Unreal Marketplace to Fab.
Yup, it’s still ran by Epic, but now it includes assets for Unity and Unreal Editor for Fortnite as well. It just seems like they were trying to consolidate a bunch of asset marketplaces and dev tools under one umbrella.
